The NEMECYS Horizon Europe Project was proud to participate in the 17th InCyber Forum, held at Lille Grand Palais from 1–3 April 2025. As Europe’s leading event for digital security and trust, the forum provided an outstanding platform to present our work on Cybersecurity for Connected Medical Devices, in alignment with this year’s theme: “Beyond Zero Trust, Trust for All.”
Representing NEMECYS at the EU Pavilion were our partners, Gencer Erdogan from SINTEF Digital and George Zissis from Athens Technology Center (ATC). Together, they showcased the project’s progress and impact, engaging in high-level discussions with fellow researchers, industry stakeholders, and cybersecurity experts from across Europe.
With the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) expanding rapidly, so do the risks associated with connected healthcare systems. Devices that once operated in isolation are now embedded in interconnected ecosystems, bringing clear benefits to patient care, but also new vulnerabilities. NEMECYS focuses on identifying and mitigating these cyber risks through a combination of applied research and real-world case studies!
Building awareness and sharing knowledge
The InCyber Forum allowed the NEMECYS team to raise awareness around the unique cybersecurity challenges of medical technology, share research findings, and demonstrate the potential of proactive risk management. Throughout the event, we had meaningful conversations with key players in cybersecurity, healthcare IT, and public policy, reinforcing the importance of international cooperation in this domain.
