NEMECYS presents cybersecurity recommendations to MDCG New Technologies Working Group

On 22 May 2025, the NEMECYS project contributed to a key policy discussion on medical device cybersecurity during a meeting of the New Technologies Working Group (NTWG) of the Medical Device Coordination Group (MDCG)Coordination group X03565 – in Brussels, Belgium. Representing the project, Christos Androutsos (University of Ioannina) and Martin Jaatun (SINTEF Digital) presented a set of consolidated recommendations developed in cooperation with five other Horizon Europe projects: MEDSECURANCE, SEPTON, ENTRUST, CYLCOMED, and CYMEDSEC.

The presentation focused on practical recommendations for improving the existing MDCG 2019-16 guidance derived from real-world case studies across the participating projects. The proposals aimed to enhance clarity, applicability, and alignment with the realities faced by developers, manufacturers, and users of connected medical technologies.
