NEMECYS at the 3rd ECSCI Workshop on Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience

We are pleased to announce that NEMECYS will be featured in the 3rd European Cluster for Securing Critical Infrastructures (ECSCI) Workshop, taking place on 29–30 April 2025, which will focus on Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience. NEMECYS will be represented in Session 2: EU Research and Innovation with a Focus on Cyber and Digital Resilience (Part 2), scheduled on Day 1 (29 April 2025). Karin Bernsmed (SINTEF) will deliver a presentation entitled “NEMECYS – Cybersecurity for Connected Medical Devices”, from 12:20 to 12:40.

Her presentation will highlight how NEMECYS is addressing the pressing cybersecurity challenges facing the healthcare sector, particularly regarding IoT-enabled medical devices. As healthcare becomes more digitized, ensuring the integrity and resilience of these interconnected systems is critical—not just for operational continuity, but for patient safety and public trust.

About the event

This hybrid event -hosted at Tecnalia in Bilbao, Spain, and accessible online- brings together leading voices in the cybersecurity and physical security domains, addressing the urgent need for integrated, cross-sectoral approaches to securing Europe’s critical infrastructures.

As modern critical infrastructures become increasingly complex and interconnected—spanning sectors such as health, energy, transport, and finance—the threat landscape evolves rapidly. Cyber-physical attacks are no longer isolated incidents but sophisticated, hybrid threats with wide-reaching implications. The ECSCI Workshop will highlight cutting-edge strategies to counteract these risks through collaborative research, innovative technologies, and policy development.
