On 13 June 2025, we will be part of a high-impact public stakeholder workshop focused on one of today’s most pressing challenges in healthcare: securing connected medical devices against cyber threats. Titled “Innovative Solutions for Cyber Risk in Medical Devices: A Hands-On Workshop”, this full-day event is set to bring together healthcare stakeholders and experts in cyber risk management, cybersecurity, and medical devices for an in-depth exchange of knowledge and practical experience.
The workshop will be held at Le 253, located at 253 rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. It will run from 09:00 to 17:00 and is free to attend, though advance registration is required by 1 June 2025.
Why Attend?
The workshop offers a rare opportunity to explore critical cybersecurity issues affecting the medical device sector. Through interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and real-world case studies, participants will engage directly with the solutions shaping the future of secure healthcare technology. Attendees will also benefit from unique networking opportunities with leading stakeholders from across Europe.
NEMECYS in the spotlight
The NEMECYS project will be prominently featured during the afternoon programme with a dedicated session introducing the Cyber Compass tool that is being developed in the project to help (in particular) small manufacturers to get an overview of regulations, standards and guidelines that are relevant for complying with regulatory requirements in a given market. In addition, the tool will refer to existing good practices for cybersecurity in medical devices; both things we have developed ourselves in previous projects, and things that are freely available.
The session will highlight how NEMECYS contributes to strengthening cybersecurity across the lifecycle of both simple and advanced medical technologies.
What to expect
The programme also features sessions exploring the CymedSec project, which focuses on the direct impact of cybersecurity on patient health, and the Cylcomed project, offering insights from hospital partners. Participants will also see a demonstration of the Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Analysis (TVRA) Toolkit developed in the Medsecurance project, and attend a session led by the Entrust project, examining dynamic trust assessment methods in medical device ecosystems.
The day will conclude with an informal gathering at the project stations, providing attendees an opportunity to continue conversations, explore ongoing research outputs, and forge new professional connections while enjoying complimentary refreshments.
Who Should Attend?
The workshop targets a wide range of stakeholders, from IT and cybersecurity professionals working within hospitals and clinics to manufacturers, compliance officers, researchers, and policymakers. Attendees can expect to gain a deeper understanding of how to assess and mitigate security risks, respond to threats, and ensure trust and resilience within an increasingly connected healthcare infrastructure.
